Essence: What Nālandā Ubud Stands For

Knowledge as devotion | Learning as transformation |  Connection as practice

Nālandā Ubud stands for the transmission of higher knowledge through embodied experience.

It is a sanctuary for seekers, teachers and practitioners to study, teach and live the principles of yoga in their truest form.

Therefore, the essence of the brand lies in authenticity, discipline and unity between wisdom and practice – a place where spiritual learning becomes a way of being.

Design Direction: Sacred, Devotional, Balanced

On the energetic map, Nālandā Ubud is:

Sacred and refined | Rooted and timeless | Intelligent and devotional | Balanced and awakening

The design direction for Nālandā Ubud draws directly from the original artwork of Balinese healer and tantric master Tjokorda Rai.

The master’s drawing, a sacred pranala symbol, expresses the continuous flow of energy between the physical and spiritual dimensions.

Through careful vectorisation, the composition was translated into a refined, symmetrical form that could serve as the school’s visual emblem: timeless and charged with meaning.

Overall, the geometry expresses the school’s teaching philosophy: energy elevated through awareness.

Symbol Concept – Balinese Pranala diagram by Master Tjokorda Rai

The Nālandā Ubud symbol originates from a sacred Balinese pranala diagram drawn by Master Tjokorda Rai.

It represents the energetic purification of the chakras and nadis, aligning the masculine and feminine currents within the practitioner until they meet in the centre — the space of neutrality and awakening.

  • The central axis signifies consciousness rising through awareness.

  • The curved side forms express the dual currents of energy — ida and pingala — harmonising through practice.

  • The flame-like upper motif evokes the fire of knowledge and purification.

  • The root foundation symbolises grounding, embodiment, and the link to the earth.

Together, these elements form a complete sacred map of transformation.

Colour World – Sacred & Pure

The Nālandā Ubud colour palette was designed to evoke depth and sacred simplicity.

Its two-tone composition allows the form itself to speak, free from distraction, yet rich in symbolism.

Midnight Blue (#23407D): Embodies knowledge, depth, and inner stillness. It reflects the disciplined and contemplative nature of study.

Pure White (#FFFFFF): Symbolises purity, openness and divine light.

Together, these hues create a visual equilibrium between intellect and devotion.

Client Experience

I’ve enjoyed working with Yoli (Ioana Dumitrascu) on multiple design projects—from websites to promotional material—and I can honestly say she is a gem. She brings a beautiful blend of creativity, professionalism, and intuition to everything she does. Yoli has this rare ability to truly understand your brand and translate it into visual language that feels both authentic and impactful. Her attention to detail, artistic flair, and dedication to quality have made a big difference in how I present my offerings. Whether it was a last-minute edit or a big design overhaul, she always approached the work with calm confidence and grace. I feel lucky to have her support and wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for thoughtful, soulful, and effective design work

How This Kind of Design Supports a Business

A considered logo and visual identity change how a business shows up every day.

It’s not decoration. It’s structure.

What it gives the brand:

  • A recognizable face on: website, socials, documents, signage.

  • A coherent language of logo, color and type, so everything looks like it belongs to the same business.

  • Decision ease: no more guessing fonts, colours or styles for every new asset.

  • Higher perceived value: a brand that looks intentional supports better pricing and better clients.

  • Confidence for the founder: you know what your brand looks like, so you can focus on the work itself.

A proprietary process blending strategy, symbolism and essence mapping — shared in full with confirmed clients

How I build it

  • We start with the essence of the work: who you serve, what you stand for, and how you want people to feel.

  • I create a visual blueprint that maps symbols, mood, typography and color into a structured system.

  • From there, I design the logo and core identity elements and test them in real contexts: website, social, print.

  • You receive a compact, usable identity kit you can actually work with: logo files, color codes, type system and key applications.

This is bespoke work, built to hold the depth of what you do and to be usable in real life, day after day.

Your brand can feel this aligned
